Chiropractic Care During Pregnancy
Helping you achieve the pregnancy and delivery experience you've always imagined!
During pregnancy, your body goes through incredible changes as it grows your baby and prepares for birth.
Getting the right kind of chiropractic care can help you have a more comfortable pregnancy, an easier birth, and a faster recovery.
Our specialized treatment remains safe and highly effective throughout all stages of pregnancy.
We use Webster Technique, a specific sacral adjustment for pelvic positioning, in addition to other adjustments to relieve back and neck tension.
We also assess soft tissue tension (such as round ligament, sacrotuberous ligament, and pelvic musculature) and perform releases where it’s needed.
Depending on baby positioning goals, we utilize our extensive perinatal training alongside techniques such as Spinning Babies, the Miles Circuit, and more. Ask us about our tips on work ergonomics, sleep positioning, heartburn, and more!
All chiropractors receive some training in caring for pregnant patients. But both Dr. Amber and Dr. Malia are extensively trained with the expertise to care for and your growing baby.
Our doctors are among the most highly trained chiropractors in Boulder, CO, for pregnancy, postpartum, and infant care and are certified through the ICPA, Webster, and Spinning Babies.
Benefits of Chiropractic Care during pregnancy include:
Reduced headache and jaw tension
Resolve Rib subluxations: sharp mid-back pain is common amongst pregnant patients and is often fully resolved with adjustments
Reduced Paresthesia: numbness & tingling in the hands, arms, or feet
Reduced Symphysis Pubis Disorder (SPD)
Relieve Carpal Tunnel symptoms
Reduce Sacroiliac Joint Pain
Assess Breech & Transverse baby positioning via the Webster Technique
Encourage optimal fetal positioning via pelvic alignment, possibly reducing labor times and improving postpartum healing time
Webster Certified Chiropractic Care
Dr. Amber and Dr. Malia are both Webster-certified chiropractors. This safe and gentle chiropractic treatment focuses on creating more room for your baby to help with optimal positioning and to prepare your pelvis for birth.
We often see moms whose babies are stuck in a breech position. Oftentimes the baby’s movements are restricted because they don’t have enough space to get into a better or ideal birth position.
The Webster technique works by gently aligning your pelvic bones and addressing the soft tissues around that area to create space for your baby and allow them to move.
Spinning Babies for Baby Positioning
Both Dr. Amber and Dr. Malia are trained in the Spinning Babies approach to help you prepare for birth.
Spinning Babies helps create balance in your pelvis to allow your baby to get into the optimal position for birth. This can help you have a more comfortable pregnancy and an easier labor and delivery.
This gentle approach focuses on creating balance in your body and helps widen your pelvis so your baby can rotate and descend.
The Spinning Babies exercises we teach you can be practiced at home during pregnancy and birth.
The Miles Circuit
The Miles Circuit is a technique we recommend that moms begin around 37 weeks of pregnancy.
This technique was developed by a doula to help a client whose labor had stalled. The Miles Circuit helps the baby get into an optimal position before labor begins and can help relieve back pain and speed up labor after it has slowed down.

Our recommendations for treatment are based on individual needs and symptoms. Some aches can be entirely relieved with one adjustment, some take more time. Frequency depends on the severity of pain and baby positioning goals.
Chiropractic care is beneficial for pregnancy, even if you’re feeling good and pain-free. If you have no complaints, a good frequency we recommend to support your body during the prenatal period is:
1st Trimester: One visit, often for achy joints due to rising levels of the hormone relaxin
2nd Trimester: 1 visit/month, often for low back or pelvic discomfort due to shifting center of gravity
3rd Trimester: 2 visits/month, often for ligament tension due to baby’s growth and labor prep
After 36 weeks: 1 visit/week until delivery for optimal baby and pelvic positioning!
Infant Care
Chiropractic can help your baby too! We provide gentle adjustments to help your baby feel comfortable. It also helps with breastfeeding, colic, constipation, and sleep.
Postpartum Care
Your body goes through a lot of change after giving birth. Regular adjustments help your body get back into alignment, ease neck and back pain, and help you heal.
